Inaugural Meeting Wrap-Up
Thanks to everyone that came out to Commpose’s inaugural meeting over at Keane Creative in Tempe. It was definitely a success!
Joey Robert Parks led a great discussion on managing projects that span months and how his book, Die Reading, helped him to secure clients and land him where he is today.
We opened up the floor at the end of the meeting to suggestions for next month’s meeting as well as an overall strategy for the future of the group. Here are some of the ideas that were tossed around:
1. Collaborative writing – everyone work on a piece together, each getting a section, as if we were all different characters.
2. Sharing resources – this will help build out the “resources” section of this page and introduce those at the meetings to new sources of inspiration.
3. Inspiration and Idea Roundtable – Everyone comes to the meeting with a few things they are currently struggling with in their writing (whether it be something for a client, a skill they need to develop, or anything) and present it to the group for feedback, suggestions, or assistance.
Does anyone have any more suggestions on what you would like to see come of this exciting group? Leave your comments below and let’s talk about them!
